2010-2012
Completed
Massar is an NGO for non-formal youth education in Syria, which was developing a major science and discovery park for children in Damascus. Our experts (pre-Lugarit) work with Massar on prototyping smaller exhibits and on the design and implementation of one prototype exhibit in the city of Homs.
The discovery centre in the city of Homs hosts a hands-on exhibition for children. The exhibit is about news; it helps kids to understand news making and how to make news themselves. The display has a sequence of interactive computer zones each presenting a part of news making. By going through the zones, the visitors will go across the phases of news making and will put together their own news stories.
Our experts’ scope of work included:
Working with Massar on prototyping smaller exhibits in subsidiary locations in different cities in Syria.
Planning for a test prototype centre to be implemented in the city of Homs; an interactive computer based exhibit where kids experiment with the making of News.
Detailed design and specifications for all components of the exhibition.
Design and development of the surface-touch software for the all 13 expo zones, including architecture, story boards, UI design, client and back-end development, testing, installation, and training.
Organizing a multidisciplinary team (with Balash Co. and subcontractors) to supply and install the exhibition's software, hardware, and fit outs.
A team of local and international consultants collaborated on this project. The services quoted here were delivered by N’N Design Studio, a partner to LUGARIT.
